it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
A set of "Girl Code" novels will help students continue to develop their appreciation for reading.
I hope that reading this book allows students to be inspired to read, but also inspired by the story of two teenage tech phenoms who met at Girls Who Code summer camp, teamed up to create a viral video game, and ended up becoming world-famous.
Most importantly, it is vital that students are exposed to culturally relevant literature that is representative of them. This novel will allow my students, especially the girls, to see themselves in areas that they are not often portrayed in. They, too, can be scientists, mathematicians, coders, gamers, and powerhouses in tech. industry.
