Gifted Minds, Green Future: Recycling Ink, Igniting Change!
Help me give my students support to launch an environmental initiative by providing supplies for the implementation of ink cartridge recycling bin sites across our district and the offices community of stakeholders.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
What I love about our students is their keen interest in helping the environment. The resources we're asking for will teach them about recycling while also helping them develop important skills. Our goal is to make our community better by working together with local businesses like Dawkins Office Supply. Our students are special because they care deeply about making positive changes, even in a neighborhood struggling with poverty and violence.
Plastic Totes: Place these plastic totes in various locations around the school district, such as classrooms, offices, and common areas.
Students will be responsible for creating recycling totes and contacting stakeholders and district offices by phone mail and email to advocate for ink cartridge recycling and the importance of them buying into our efforts.
Labels : Affix these labels onto the plastic totes to provide clear instructions on how to properly dispose of ink cartridges. This will ensure that everyone knows how to participate in the recycling program.
Supplies/ Printing Signs: With the printing supplies, we will create informative signs about the ink cartridge recycling program. These signs will be placed near the recycling bins to raise awareness and encourage participation among students, teachers, and staff.
Color Printer: Students will design and print posters/flyers with instructions.
Adhesive strips: Use these to securely attach the labels onto the plastic totes.
Marker pens or permanent markers: In case we need to add additional instructions or label the bins for specific purposes.
Cleaning supplies: These will be used to maintain the cleanliness of the recycling bins and the surrounding areas to ensure a pleasant environment for everyone involved.
Materials will enable us to effectively implement and promote the ink cartridge recycling program in our school district, fostering a culture of environmental responsibility and sustainability among our students and the broader community.
