This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My Prek students come from various areas in NYC. Most are from the East Harlem area, we have some from The Bronx and Queens. The parents and students are so excited to start school. We have a great collaboration with the community and school. The students love to explore the areas of NYC especially Central Park! The students at our schhol are energetic and empathetic. Our Prek program grows using Social Emotional Learning!
My Project
During these trying times students and families need all the help that they can get to have access to their education. The tablets will give the students tools that they can easily use at home. Once remote learning is thing of the past and we transition to full in person, the tablets can be used for the various in-classroom extension activities. Technology always has a place in the class, and these tablets can be widely used for in-class and in-person instruction.
We want the students to be able to have access to the same resources that students everywhere have access to.
We want to be able to make sure that all children at our school will be able to access the learning remotely.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
