Giants, Lions, Witches and Wardrobes Oh My

My students need copies of The BFG and The Lion, the Witch and The Wardrobe. They need copies that they can follow along with and use to help with comprehension questions and vocabulary.

My Students

Many of my students are English language learners. They love interacting with peers and with myself in the classroom. They are a lively bunch but at the same time, a mass majority of them are wanting to learn. Many of my students come from low income households or are even homeless. The school to which they attend is a Title One school that has free breakfast and lunch for every student. With them being from low income, many of their parents work 2-4 jobs to make ends meet which means they don't have the ability to read with their parents sometimes.

My Project

Many of the students don't have reading inside their own homes or books that they own. The only source of reading that they come across happens within school. Textbook after, textbook after textbooks doesn't allow the students to experience an actual book and being able to read it from beginning to end. These two books are a supplementary resource to allow students to know that there are other things out in the word that they can read and enjoy rather then just the textbook that they read in class. With the lack of resources they have at home, this project puts two more books into their hands to read and enjoy.
