My students need studio monitors so that they can hear/analyze their recordings in high definition.

My Students
My students are composing, arranging and recording amazing music. What they don't have is a way to hear their music played back for them in any amount of quality.
My students are exceptionally talented musicians and are constantly trying to make their mark.
At our inner city high school we are trying to build a semi-professional recording studio/music lab for the students to study audio engineering and produce quality sounding recordings. The project is in its infant stages and so acquiring quality equipment is crucial to its development. Too often, public school students are given second hand materials to work with. Not this time. With this recording studio we will be able to teach technical/career skills, as well as provide an amazing outlet for students to create music.
My Project
This pair of studio monitors and speaker cables will help take the studio to the next level. Currently students rely on inboard computer speakers or even the speaker on their phone to listen to music. What these speakers will do is allow my students to critically analyze the sounds they hear and refine their craft. They will also help groups of students listen to each others work at the same time rather than sharing headphones. The students will learn the depth and complexity of audio engineering and proper sound amplification. They will be able to hear what they did right, as well as what they can improve upon for the next take.
By donating to this project you will be helping to create the first student run recording studio in a public high school within our district.
No where else do students have the opportunity to work with quality equipment and record original material. With your help we can bring music, and academic resources to the entire school. Thank you!
