My Students
Every day my students are arranging, composing and trying to record their own music. Some of the things they need are quality microphones to capture their sound.
All of my students are extremely talented and eager to be a part of creating music.
Our goal for the year is to create a semi-professional recording studio in the school to help teach students about sound engineering and to record/produce our own records. The students are excited and eager to start laying down tracks and exploring the realms of digital recording - they just need a few microphones to get started.
My Project
These two condenser mics are perfect for a small recording studio. They will deliver clean, crisp, clear sounds that will make the music sound amazing. Next to a quality performance, the microphone is the next important piece of a good studio. This set of two mics are both high quality and versatile. We'll use them for recording piano, horns, guitars, drums and vocals. With quality mics the students will also learn about the importance of proper mic placement and how to use each mic in different settings - a skill that will help them in any future audio job they have.
In addition, the microphones will be used by all the departments in the school. Foreign Language classes will use the studio to record conversations to be analyzed. English classes will record speeches and poetry. Physics classes can record and manipulate sound waves. The list of possibilities are endless.
This project is important because it gets at the very heart of what our dream is - to capture and record the spirit and energy of young musicians.
Too often public high school students have to use second rate equipment and thus get second rate results. This is your chance to help establish the first high school recording studio in the entire district! Thank you so much for your support - here's the to music!
