Help me give my students the opportunity to own what they have read in Ghost.

My Project
Our 6th grade students will be reading Ghost this year. We would like them to annotate while reading. While having the opportunity to annotate, it gives the students ownership of the novel.
As most people know, when you annotate or highlight key parts of a story, it helps students remember what was just read.
Annotating is a quick way to find key points when we discuss the novel. We want our students to be compassionate about reading. I believe having the opportunity to highlight in a book will allow them to connect with the characters.
More than a third of students from low‑income households
