Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach a terrific group of fourth graders in a low-income, inner city school. Most of my kids are from other countries and have little knowledge of the United States and our history.

My students have minimal English and writing abilities. I want to incorporate the history of our great country with reading and writing.

My class needs biography books. The books I've chosen are from our wonderful history. Each one is a different individual who played a significant role in our history.

With your donation, my students will be able to learn about the history of the United States, appreciate the people who made us the great country we are, and then write about these people as they get to know and understand them. They will also introduce this person to the class through an oral presentation.
