My Students
My students are unique and energetic learners who each have very specific goals and skills they are working on, throughout the day. Every activity that is designed in my classroom is geared towards accomplishing these goals. These goals go beyond academics and include activities of daily living and social skills.
Transitions can be tricky for students with such high energy so attempting to minimizing distractions along the way is incredibly helpful.
My students continue to learn about themselves every day and my classroom is a place to take risks without a fear of failure.
My Project
One of the most important things a child can learn in their early years is independence. My students need seat sacks and seat socks so they can be independent and organized throughout the day.
The students in my classroom thrive off of organization, routine, and structure.
They are very high energy and can become distracted when working on a task. Having seat sacks close by will aid in their ability to get supplies independently and minimize the amount of time spent wandering around the room to get folders, notebooks, and other materials. Rather than spend time looking for a missing marker or finding a book that was placed into the wrong bin, these items will be at their fingertips and they will develop a stronger sense of ownership and pride in their materials.
Seat socks will benefit our classroom by minimizing noise to students who are more sensitive to noises when seats are moved around. Additionally, these seat socks will make moving chairs easier for students with low muscle tone.
