This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Welcome to my class where every day is an adventure! I teach in a self-contained class of 1st, graders in an Autism Cluster. Our classroom consists of 6 students. There are many different academic and social/emotional levels in our class. Some students are learning to copy and trace their names, while other students are in general education classes for part the day. Some of our friends express themselves and communicate with words while others use pictures and other communication devices. We all have different abilities and strengths. We are constantly working on improving every day and have a Growth Mindset within our classroom. Our school is a wonderful place to be as we have a cluster as well as inclusion classes for students who are ready to be in a classroom with more friends.
My Project
The holidays are coming up and we have lots of fun arts and crafts projects for hands on learning! These items are the basics needed to complete these projects. We're using the lamination pouches to make fun picture snow globes. That's the only way we will get snow here in Florida!
Those base ten blocks will help us practice place value, so that we can practice adding up the cost of our holiday wish lists!
We'll be making wish list anchor charts and checking them twice.
All the supplies on this list will help us complete not one but multiple projects over the holiday season. These are the basics that are needed and often overlooked. But with your help we can have everything we need for some hands on learning fun!!
