Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
A typical day in our classroom is always challenging the students. We are constantly working towards our goals. Our biggest challenge is not having the materials, especially technology in the classroom that is necessary for students to keep up with our common core requirements.
In my school, students are predominantly Hispanic.
We have a large ELL population. My students come from low income homes and often struggle to provide more than just the basics. My school is one of the oldest schools in Las Vegas and we do not have the "latest and greatest" building with up to date technology or supplies.
My Project
One of my personal goals for this school year is to spend more time with differentiated instruction. Having the extra technology with the listening center will allow for students of all levels to participate in that specific center and activities while I work with other students who need additional support in other subject areas. In addition, we are using more technology and having a wireless printer which can print from our ipads and ipods will be very beneficial.
Every student deserves the chance to create their own learning experiences in the classroom.
With the addition of this extra technology, students can keep up with their own goals and the expectations of common core standards.
