My Students
My 4th grade Special Education students have been in 100% virtual learning this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic and have continued to show up to class eager and ready to learn. With our school having the possibility of going into hybrid learning soon, I want to make sure that my students and I can still learn in a fun and engaging way with daily guided reading lessons and activities that can be done in class and independently.
The students in my class are currently at a range of different reading levels and I would like to help continue providing opportunities to access engaging and interactive reading content.
My Project
The Guided Readers program is designed to help teachers learn how to effectively reach and teach children of all ability levels. Guided Readers focuses on helping students during daily guided reading instructional groups. Guided Readers provides printable leveled readers as well as digital access to hundreds of quality leveled reading texts. Guided Readers will help provide some of my most vulnerable readers access to content to help build their reading confidence.
The Guided Readers program is a companion that can be used with my reading curriculum that will continue to assist in following state standards in a consistent streamlined framework.
Many of my students are two to three years below grade level. This year, my students have been working EXTREMELY hard on applying themselves and putting forth their best efforts to close the gaps. I want to provide my students with access to this program to help give additional engaging, yet rigorous opportunities to continue to love learning and help create a desire to become better readers.
