Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students receive free or reduced-price lunches. They are great kids but have hard lives. They really strive to learn, and these essentials would help the kids. Most of the parents struggle to make ends meet, and often food and other supplies are limited. These students need extra care and attention. I try to be an emotional support to as many of my students as I can. I provide supplies to many of my students because they just don't have the money for school supplies.

School sports are a low priority when you are homeless and without other basic necessities.

My students come to me without many of the skills they need for seventh grade. Around 60% of my students are below grade level. This is a result of many of them attending different schools throughout their education.

I am in a transient district, which adds to the struggles of the students who move around a lot.

My Project

I work in a Title 1 school where many families are essential workers. This project will provided necessary resources to help my students come into a clean environment with supplies to help them remain healthy while they are in school. Many students do not have the ability to bring in needed supplies that would help to offset the cost of these supplies so your support will help greatly! Some supplies is needed to help provide an efficient classroom environment that will support student learning as they come back full time this year and attempt to regain ground potentially lost during virtual learning.
