Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I have two wonderful classes of second grade students! They are full of excitement and ready to learn. They especially love math and working with math centers. It gives them a hands-on experience where they have control of their learning and can work at their own pace. They work great in partner centers as well as in individual center activities. Most of the time they choose to do these over working on the Chrome book. I would love to be able to offer more than folder centers.

My Project

These Hand2mind VersaTiles will completely change the way my students work in centers and the way I conduct small group learning. This will give my students the confidence of working on their own and be able to check their work without waiting on feedback from me. It will let the students as well as myself see their strengths and weakness without using assessments. They will then have the opportunity to work on the individual skills they need most so that they can be successful in math. This will make math more of a learning adventure and will add excitement to our class.
