My Project
At the high school level, most of our students only have one opportunity to go outside during the school day...lunch! And only if we are experiencing good weather, which, here in south Louisiana, isn't always promised. Our outside commons area where students hang out during their lunch period features 10 picnic tables for group seating near beautiful, tall oak trees. Unfortunately, none of these tables have umbrellas!
We want to create an inviting, peaceful atmosphere for our students to enjoy in their 30 minutes of respite from their classrooms and screens.
By obtaining outdoor umbrellas, our school can provide students with a fun hangout spot, as well as protection from the sun.
