Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach in a Title 1 school in Southern California, where 100% of students receive free breakfast and lunch. My students face many obstacles in their lives, such as poverty and crime. But despite these issues, they come to school every day, ready to learn.
My students are enthusiastic learners, who love to read, write, and learn new things.
I want to encourage their enthusiasm and provide them with a safe, nurturing environment where they will persevere and feel successful.
By funding this project, my students will receive the tools they need to effectively start our new school year. My students will use the tote bags, folders, and pencil pouches to organize their books and other materials. The cardstock, sheet protectors, and white board markers will be used as resources to enhance their learning. And the glue sticks, markers, and tape will be used for art projects.
