My Students
Many of my students come from a wide variety of places to call America home. Most are English language learners from Bangladesh and Yemen. Most are also American Special Education students who are well below their level. All students have a drive to succeed and with the proper supports, will be able to do so in their core curriculum. These students are hard workers whose families lack the funds to provide our classroom with some of these essentials to allow for collaborative group learning.
As fourth grade students, it is important for them to succeed in their state testing, preparing them for fifth grade and beyond.
My kiddos are so excited to learn new things embrace the many opportunities presented to them in the American education system.
My Project
Inspiring students to fully engage in chapter books can sometimes be a challenge. This year we hope to encourage students by using shared reading with the book, Escape From Mr. Lemoncello's Library. As we read the book, we will grow a community of independent readers. By doing this, we hope to get our students excited about reading chapter books.
For our return to school, it is crucial that each student is given ample supplies to succeed.
With COVID, we are unable to share supplies.
The pocket helps my students visualize the activities we do every day.
For example, it's useful for them to see what part of the day we are at the moment, and when they go to recess, or when it's time to go home.
