This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
FCAT 2.0 is right around the corner. My class will be tested in writing, math, and reading. I want to make sure that I can give them every resource that I can think of to make sure they feel prepared. I want my students to see this test, and be confident that they will score very high and succeed.
My students are constantly amazing me.
They are brilliant young minds and they deserve to be able to have the right resource in order to be successful. I am constantly challenging my students to think outside the box and they see the importance of thinking beyond the classroom, beyond themselves. They see that knowledge is really a powerful thing.
My Project
The materials that I am requesting will help prepare my students for the FCAT 2.0 exams. The notebooks will be used to house their notes and mini lessons to prepare for FCAT. The binder will house worksheets and important resources.
The students will participate in mini prep lessons on the specific skills that they need to know for the test. In Writing, some of the mini lessons are great beginnings, building support, and great endings. Some of the mini lessons in Math will be fractions, examining and breaking down word problems, and understanding and reading the problem. Some of the lessons in Reading are understanding the type of questions and author's purpose.
My students will be practicing and practicing and practicing for this exam. I have several ideas and new and different approaches to learning and beating the FCAT 2.0. I believe if you prepare correctly that the feeling nervousness will not be able to get their claws in you and plant the seeds of doubt.
These materials will make sure that they are organized and they can use the materials as a reference guide for not only FCAT, but we can use it to build knowledge later on.
I believe that if my students are successful in school, it sets them up to be successful as adults. If they have to work hard and study and think and apply themselves now, it can only build up their confidence and create better habits for them as adults and help them succeed even further in their lives and change the world!
