Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Fifth grade is such an exciting year for my students because it is their last year in elementary school. My students are filled with curiosity, and show kindness to one another. Coming back from distance learning, it is important for them to know that our classroom is a safe place for them to learn and grow with one another. Classrooms should allow their creativity to excel in a positive clean environment. They deserve to learn in the best accommodations I can find for them.
My Project
This upcoming school year, I will start my teaching career in fifth grade. My students deserve the best in order for them to succeed in their academics. Being able to offer these accommodations will better support my students with their work in our classroom. Distance learning has shown us that our bodies get tired of sitting in the same spot for many hours. Our bodies need movement. Having these seat cushions, a lap desk, clipboards, whiteboards, and a rug will help meet my students' needs. The seat cushions will help my students be comfortable at their lap desks for them to do their work. Clipboards/whiteboards are other great options if my students want to do their independent work on the rug.
