The students in my classroom are a very diverse and enthusiastic group of learners. They come to school every day excited to learn. But like most classroom there is a wide range of reading and math levels. It’s our jobs as teachers to meet students where they are and to figure out how to get them to the next level.
At least 40 percent of the students in the class have IEPS (Individualized Education Plans).
I am always working to make sure everyone’s needs are being met. It is my goal to have everyone learn and reach his/her fullest potential.
My Project
My first graders love technology. They love going online to play math games and to read electronic books. This chromebook would allow more students to have the opportunity to access content in fun and different ways.
There is an online reading program called Raz-Kids that gives students access to a great number of books on their reading level.
Students LOVE reading books online. They often ask to go on during their “free/choice time”. In addition there are always students with OT issues that have difficulty with writing. Having the option of typing their work will be extremely helpful. These are examples of how this chromebook book will help us meet the needs of the students in the classroom.
