This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I have an amazing group of 24 dual language third graders who are eager to learn every single day. Though these students are lucky enough to have Chromebooks at home provided by the district, not all students have internet access at home. Most students need paper packets to be able to complete their homework and practice math skills, reading skills and comprehension skills. Most students regress academically during the summer and begin the new school year lower than where they finished the previous school year.
As we near the end of the school year and summer break inches closer, this project will provide my students the individualized practice and support to stay on track and be better prepared for fourth grade!
I like to provide as much support to not only struggling students but those students who are meeting or exceeding grade level expectations. Struggling students would be able to get more fluency practice, and grade level or exceeding grade level students would be able to challenge themselves with higher level comprehension practice. Being able to simply pick from the pre-planned lessons and worksheets would make this task much more attainable and help my third graders be much more prepared for the following school year.
