Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have 18 bright, bold, curious, and knowlegdable first graders! Our class is full of diveristy, with 70% of the students coming from foriegn countries whose first language is not english. My students have a zeal for learning, and displaying new found knowledge. My scholars share a special friendship with each other, and are always ready and willing to help their peers. They keep each other enterained with their witty jokes and curious minds.
My Project
The materials I am requesting will be used to foster a love for spelling, reading and math. During this virtual setting my students will find delight in being able to use hands on materials (normaly seen in the classroom) at home. To continue to build the foundational skills for my fantastic first graders to move forward to second grade with confidence they need more writing journals, whiteboards, markers, linking cubes, letter tiles, calendars, clocks and so much more! With a class demographic of 70% ESL students, it is very important to use as many hands on manipulatives as possible to ensure maxium teaching and learning is occuring. Help my first graders soar!
