Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Everyone wants a comfy place to learn. I try to create a positive atmosphere for my students within the walls of my classroom. A big part of that is using flexible seating. Many of my students come from challenging backgrounds and can not afford a comfy spot to complete their homework. They love that their classroom is not a traditional room with boring desks. Even more, they love wiggling and moving in their seats.

Flexible seating allows my students the opportunity to choose their seats and be comfortable as they learn.

In addition to being comfortable, my students take ownership and responsibility for their education when they choose their flexible seats.

The tables and stools in this project will provide additional flexible seating during our reading centers. The office chair will serve as my MVP chair. The MVP chair will be for our Most Valuable Person each day. Students will each have the opportunity to sit in the chair designated for the Most Valuable Person because everyone should have a chance to feel valued.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
