My Students
I am a CS/STEM teacher at a NYC public school in Jamaica, Queens. Many of our students are first-generation Americans whose parents' first language is not English. In order to support the whole child, we strive to address their individual social and emotional needs as well as their educational needs.
Our students are curious, enthusiastic, and creative - my students are eager to explore through critical thinking through various means, whether it's through the use of technology or traditional means.
They are fearless when it comes to technology and, as children of the 21st century, they need to be prepared to use a variety of tools to engage their world.
We strive to give each of our students and by extension their families, every opportunity to express themselves and interact with the world at large.
My Project
Thoughts and ideas made real!!! Our students have such creativity and rich imaginations so we want to take their ideas to the next level. We would like to build on what we've done so far in our science, coding, digital design, and our developing MakerSpace plans.
We believe that STEM and design experiences that turn their student's thoughts into physical objects will expose our students to new and novel opportunities.
We are a mid-sized school in Jamaica, Queens. Our paraprofessionals, teachers, administrators, and support staff are strongly aligned and dedicated to the needs of our students and families. We are all so committed to producing not only 21st-century thinkers but 21st-century creators!
We hope to bring thoughts to life through the engineering design process (EDP) and product development using these prototyping and creation tools.
