Getting Our Creative Juices Flowing Through Art and Literacy
My students need a variety of books and a quiet area like the Treehouse Hideaway to read those books. We lost so much of our furniture, manipulatives and basic supplies as well.
I work for a Large School District that has suffered a huge loss from Hurricane Harvey. My class has nine students and everyday these students proved to me that although we had to relocate they could keep up with their work and stay Strong. Despite these Hardships my students are eager to learn and do their best.
I strive to create a fun and creative learning experience everyday to promote the growth they need to succeed.
My students are motivated now that we have moved back to our original location to come to school and learn. I love their energy everyday to start the day fresh. Every child is uniquely creative in their own way.
My Project
I am requesting several sets of Books to help my students with Literacy, recognition with shapes, colors, alphabet, numbers etc. I will read to them daily several times during the day. They will also have time to sit on their own in the Tree Hideaway to read. The rug will be used during Circle time and during manipulative learning. Chairs are for transition to teach them to face forward since they have the bars on the sides of the chairs. Sensory tables are used to boost their imaginations through creativity. Musical instruments will be used during Music Time.
Art Supplies, Math manipulatives, Music Cd's, instruments, and Literacy will be used on a daily basis.
Puzzles help my students with memorization, math, recognition, and confidence. Each student learns differently and at their own pace so having these items will allow every student to succeed in their own way and time. Through your help they will build confidence and be given the opportunity to strive towards their own personal goals.
