This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We are a vibrant community. I work in an environment that is loving and caring. Our student population has many low income families. Our building is bursting at the seams. You would never know it walking in the door. The students respect staff and themselves. The Montessori approach is evident in every classroom. They are self-motivated and mature. My students are early learning pre-primary and the introduction to school is vital to their leading success.
My Project
Due to the pandemic we can no longer share community supplies. The seat sack organizers will allow for a more organized desk/workspace. These sacks are placed on the back of their chairs. They will be able to store notebooks and supplies safely and retrieve them easily.
Having materials on the tables can be very distracting at this age level.
The sacks will be an enormous help in keeping the students focused on their lessons. My students will learn responsibility and independence when they are using these sacks to organize their supplies.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
