Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in a public school in a large city. My students are creative, thoughtful and full of questions! They come to school each day ready to learn and challenge themselves by trying new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. They are truly inspirational!

Since I work in a city and many of our hard working families do not have the extra funds to spend on classroom necessities.

Over the years I have spent my own money to get the best for my students. However, those things are now old and broken.

Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning in the science classroom. By having materials needed to get through each class that are not broken will help change the mood that old broken things can bring.

My Project

Currently students are using broken and marker stained organization bins that are plastic. Having metal wire containers that are brightly colored will help my students with the organization they need to start their school day off right. Also, putting their notebooks in a bin will help with overall classroom organization and flow.

Coming into a class and seeing broken and stained materials is not what I want for my students, they deserve the best!

Having brightly colored, well-built pencil organizers and a place to put their notebooks will be very helpful to them. They are hard working students and discretionary funds for materials like these do not exist within my school.
