Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My wonderful students are in a low-income area. Some of my students lost many personal items, due to Hurricane Harvey. Many of them have not been exposed to the "outside world". I also have students that are just getting used to being in schools because in their country they were not exposed to education. Even though they went through these experiences, they still come to my class eager to learn and to be the best citizens ever.
My students are very creative and have awesome ideas I will like for them to be able to develop in class.
They are hard workers and are willing to do whatever it takes to do better. I have students who range from being in the United States their whole lives, and students who have just arrived from El Salvador, Mexico, Honduras and Dominican Republic. I enjoy and learn from the different cultures in a small room.
My Project
Students who learn in well-organized classrooms tend to show respect for others, pride when something is accomplished, consideration, efficiency, security in knowing what, how, when, and where to do something, Children like a predictable, safe, and orderly environment—and they like going to a school that provides that environment.
Having the Carson Dellosa Chairback Buddy, will help them be organized and ready to learn reading and writing.
Students love ownership and with these materials they have their own organized section. They will have their chair back accessible for them when they need any material and will not have to interrupt instructional time. This will also help them become organized and responsible citizens. Students will be able to take this into practice and realize how important it is to be organized.
Also, they will use the 10 Drawer Plastic Mobile Organizer in order for them to choose different selections which will help access materials they are struggling with. For example, if a student needs extra help with Inference activities, she/he will take from the Inference drawers activities so they can practice independently.
They need to have easy access to those materials that will be used frequently and be prepared to learn. Students should be able to find their work easily and quickly to promote learning.
