Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Established in 1979, our school provides educational and support services for children with hearing or vision loss in the MCP School System. Some of the students have additional challenges that magnify the impact of the vision or hearing loss. Each of the students has special needs and requires extensive technology and assistance to succeed in a school setting.

Students attend classes at one of three locations: the elementary, middle, or high school campus.

In addition, itinerant services are provided throughout our county for students whose disability is not severe enough to require full-time placement at one of the campuses. Services are also provided in several area counties.

My Project

I service students throughout our county with a diagnosed hearing loss. I also test for auditory processing disorders and hearing loss to meet students' individual education plans.

These materials will help the audiology room to stay organized and efficient!

The label maker and labels will be used to label various items throughout my therapy room and hearing booth. Students will be able to quickly access the correct size hearing aid batteries, toys, and equipment once they are properly marked with the labels.

The manila folders will keep the students' information confidential and organized.

The velcro will be used to create games and other needed materials that need to be quickly taken apart and put back together.
