My Students
Do you remember being in first grade and learning to read your first book? For my first grader being able to read a simple word is exciting for them. Help my students be fluent in their phonics and sight words.
The students in my classroom look forward to coming to school and learning new and exciting things every day.
For a lot of students in the classroom, I am the one thing they know they will see on a day to day basis and that I am a constant fixture in their lives. My students come from families that don't know where their next meal might be, they may be living with a family member or they are taking care of siblings while their parents work the third shift. Many of my students come from households that speak a language other than English and tend a Title I school where the budget gets cut more and more affecting the education they are receiving.
My Project
Do you remember how you would walk into your classroom and have to get right to work on a paper/pencil activity? For many of my students, mornings are sometimes the worst time of day for many reasons that adults sometimes just don't understand.
I want to give my students a way to unwind from their morning events at home through structured play, that is why these materials are so important.
My students need seashell sight word game to help them build hands-on vocabulary skills as they read and collect our sight-word seashells! Each piece has a shell printed on the front and a sight-word on back. The Geostix will allow my students to build geometric shapes with ease. using double-sided activity cards that challenge kids to create everything from a simple triangle to a detailed street scene. The lace a word activity will allow my students to identify lowercase letters, explore alphabet order, build words and more. The slot together snowflakes will allow them to Build up, down and all around. Helping the students to develop fine motor control as kids create. Please help my students have a little playtime in the morning to get their minds ready for the day.
