This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are honestly amazing. They are constantly working hard to achieve greatness. Most of my students, (if not all), are from a low socioeconomic background which consists of many hard-working immigrant families. For most students, school is their second home. We as teachers, spend the whole day with our students and in some cases spend more time with them than their hardworking parents.

Because of COVID-19, organization and distance learning have become part of our lives this year, my students deserve all the support they can get so that they can achieve excellence.

Everyone deserves an equal opportunity to succeed in school and in life!

My Project

Students will reinforce their learning by creating classroom anchor charts on the self-stick poster paper or grid notes. As students work with each other or the teacher, they will have these visual reminders of strategies used and links between concepts.

My students must realize that even though there are many ways to solve a problem, some ways will save them time and work.

Students cannot learn a concept by beginning with shortcuts and algorithms. They must first explore the problem by examining any strategy that works consistently. Only then can they choose the strategy most efficient for them. These anchor charts will help students compare and rank these strategies.
