My students need high interest 5th grade level books for our classroom library.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. White's classroom raised $577
This project is fully funded
My Students
I am so grateful for the opportunity to teach my amazing students! Our 5th grade family is made up of 15 students who live on the Crow Creek Sioux Reservation. Many of my students come to school with a lot other than what they are supposed to be learning that day weighing on their minds. Despite the obstacles they face, my students come to school eager to learn and have fun doing it.
I believe that giving children a voice to share their living stories is the job of any adult that works with or for children.
Children are at mercy of their environment. My resilient students face many adversities. As a teacher and passionate advocate for children, I believe it is a duty of mine to play an active part in giving my students any resource they need to succeed. Unfortunately, I don't have all the resources they need in the classroom.
My Project
As a teacher, I want to provide my students with every resource they need to be successful. Unfortunately, I do not have any books to provide my students with a classroom library.
These books will open their minds to worlds they haven't yet imagined.
Having a classroom library will help my students expand their vocabulary and provides countless opportunities for them to master new skills and be successful. My students will use these books for silent and partner reading in order to improve reading fluency and comprehension.
Lastly, it is my hope that these books will solidify a love for learning and reading!
