Getting Looks Using Chromebooks

Help me give my students the ability to publish their writing, produce presentations, and conduct research. Students will be instructed in using Google for their technology needs and digital instruction. Students need reliable and dependable resources. We are requesting five Chromebooks.

My Students

Our students are inquisitive and engaged in lessons that promote self esteem, awareness, and social justice. Students are preparing to be college and career ready through collaborative activities and lessons. Our school population is composed of predominantly African American and Latino students and our school is currently a Community support school where we provide breakfast and lunch for all students.

Students are committed to updating their knowledge and skills to be successful through their school career and beyond.

They are eager to try new technology and protocols to access information to create habits of mind to further their commitment to social justice and activism.

Students understand we are a part of a global community and to succeed as such, we need to give as well as receive. In addition to using activism for gain, they can use it for change. We understand that our education is preparing for our future, and we will need to be prepared to lead that charge.

My Project

Students have access to technology, but our keyboards are damaged and publishing on iPads is complicated. Chromebooks will allow students to utilize Google classroom and all that is available for them to use. In addition, apps through iPads do not afford all the options available to the students. We want to bridge communications and learning throughout our school.

Students need full access to all that is available.

Students will be able to learn all the techniques available through docs, slides, forms, etc. Frequently, students cannot access the features using phones or smaller devices. Fully functioning Chromebooks will allow them to learn and practice all they need to produce high quality products.
