This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Have you heard the news today? Child obesity is at an all time high. My students come from a poverty stricken area and live in apartments or multifamily homes. Since they are kindergarten students we can start teaching them how to live a healthy life! We can get them active!
My students are such darling students!
They are energetic and love to be active! They come from a poverty stricken area where the parks are used by gang members. Parents work and don't have the time to take them out. But above all this my students still thrive and learn. I want them to learn how to live a healthy lifestyle and how being active helps them. in the words of Michelle Obama, "You've got to keep your body active, even if that means just turning on some music and dancing for an hour. ...That's how you;ll prepare your bodies and your minds for greatness." âÂÂ"Let's Move! Active Schools launch, 2/28/13 (remarks to kids)
My Project
The students will be using the Wii counsel during a designated time for physical education. Also, during rainy days the students can use it to stay active even when they cannot go outside. The entire school will benefit from using the Wii to help teach our kids to be active and healthy. The students will have activities such as Wii sports and Dance. The students will learn many different sports and dances. they will learn how activity not only helps them physically but also mentally. That they will be more alert and be able to learn more in school.
My students' lives will improve tremendously by teaching them many different ways to become active and enjoy it.
To change their lifestyle and encourage them make healthy choices. It will boost test scores since they will be more active and healthy. The students will be able to learn multicultural songs and dances. This will promote learning of different cultures, acceptance and respect of others. Not only will they be learning physical education, dance, and music, but also social studies!
