Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"I'm done! What do I do now?" I've been teaching kindergarten for 12 years, and it has been a challenge to keep my kindergartners busy, working independently. Teaching them to recognize the letters has always been a challenge too.
My school is a small Title 1 school where a lot of my students qualify for reduced/free lunch program.
Most parents are working parents who are too busy to provide the extra practice and support at home. Many students are English language learners, speaking English as their second language.
My Project
With the new Letter of the Day interactive software, I can teach my kindergartners to recognize the letters in a very fun, engaging way. I will be using this every day to review and reteach the letters. Also I am requesting a complete Hot Dots library that will reach all my students at their varying levels of learning. It comes with activities for students who need basic pre-school skills through activities for my advanced kindergartners that cover first grade skills.
All these learning games will be fun and challenging for all of my students.
My kindergarten students will be able to work independently with the self-checking Hot Dot games. Learning will be fun!
