This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

High interest books selected by students go a long way to motivating students to read and inspiring them to become life-long learners. The books I have selected are books that are popular with students year after year. Graphic novels are a popular way to "trick" students into enjoying reading. Graphic novels are an effective way to helping students interpret and understand visual information more effectively as well as increasing their vocabulary. Graphic novels are not just "comic books." They are a gateway to the love of learning. Students who read graphic novels in their free time are twice as likely to enjoy reading than those who do not.
