My Students
They say "Find a job you love, and you'll never work a day in your life."
Every day I look forward to greeting my bright, inquisitive, kind, loving, 6 and 7 year old students- all 34 of them.
As a first year teacher in a public school for the very first time, in a brand new classroom, I am looking to create an environment in which students can be stimulated, challenged, and most of all, comfortable and excited to learn!
With donations, I plan to build a classroom library, as my book-shelves are currently naked. With a variety of rich literature, I hope to inspire my students to foster a love of reading, writing, and sharing their talents of being skilled authors and illustrators.
I am also looking to add fun hands-on manipulatives to my classroom. In order to engage my students in project-based/inquiry learning.
Additionally, I would love supplies that could help support many of my students who are coping with sensory-processing disorders. As an early childhood educator, it is my mission to find ways in which they can learn and feel comfortable within their own skin.
My Project
These materials will encourage students to want to read. They can navigate stories with peers, during whole group read-alouds, and individually. Please help us fill our naked book shelfs and make our library a fun, inviting space for students to spend their time during the long school day.
These bins will also help them to pick appropriate reads based on their interests, reading levels, and abilities.
The organization of a library is essential for young children to begin sorting and categorizing as they begin their journey in a world full of literature! Additionally, the book bins will be categorized by genres, making it less intimidating for non-readers to find a picture book they may enjoy without feeling the pressure of being able to read the words in the story.
