Help me give my students flexible seating to encourage collaboration, promote a comfortable learning environment, and provide movement for my active learners.
My classroom is full of 22 fourth graders who are eager, excited, and energetic when it comes to learning. They are creative and artistic thinkers, and active learners. They are passionate, and enthusiastic leaders.
They amaze with their love of reading and are always working to build their reading stamina.
It's not surprising to find them around the room, cozied up with a good book! They are looking forward to growing in their learning and becoming successful, independent learners.
My classroom is a place where students are able to interact with one another to learn and grow. They inspire me to try new things and to find new ways to get them engaged and moving!
Our school is a Leader in Me school. Students learn and use the 7 Habits to serve as role models and demonstrate leadership. My goal as a teacher is to help all of my students develop their whole-person so that they become life-ready learners.
My Project
Creating a comfortable and safe learning environment is crucial in a student's learning. Flexible seating allows my active students to find a space around the room that works best for them. It puts them in charge of their learning and their space. It allows for endless opportunities to collaborate, work together, and grow as a class.
The more comfortable my students are, the more calm, focused, and productive they become with their learning!
Allowing them to move around the room, also encourages them to share their space and supplies and cooperate with other classmates.
It will benefit all students by providing them with options for a comfortable learning space, but it will really help my active learners. This way they are able to bounce, fidget, lean, or wobble to sit and suit their needs.
