My students need Fitness Trackers and kitchen essentials to stay healthy.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Murray's classroom raised $661

My Students
My students come from a rural farming community in South Central Oklahoma. Most students I teach have parents that are working in the oil or farming industry. We have a high free and reduced lunch rate percentage which means most of our students are eating in the cafeteria every day.
We also have many students receiving backpack food to take home on the weekends to help supplement their meals while they are not in school.
Students are in grades 7-12 in our Jr. Sr. High School.
My Project
This year, my students would like to focus on healthy eating and learning to be fit. They would like to have the fitness trackers to start monitoring their fitness routines and how much physical exercise they are getting throughout the day. They would like to use them to track during class and see which students are getting in the most fitness during the school week.
Students also requested new kitchen equipment to help prepare healthy meals using fresh ingredients.
The kitchen equipment will allow them to be safer and more efficient in the kitchen. Our cutlery and appliances are out of date and need to be updated in order to prepare meals.
The new spiralizer will allow students to learn to eat vegetable and fruits in a different and healthier way. It will also allow students to replace foods with high levels of fat and carbohydrates with healthier alternatives.
More than half of students from low‑income households
