My students are excited and ready for third grade. They are eight and nine year olds who come from homes where families want them to be successful, however many lack the basics. Some come from homes with only one parent, others live with grandparents, some speak different languages, but everyone one of my families want their child to achieve their dreams and learn as much as possible! Neither my students' families nor my school district have the finances to give my students everything they need to be successful. It is my hope that you will help me bridge the gap to give my students the materials they need to reach their dreams. My Project
Testing... Testing... Testing... In third grade, we do a lot of testing and test prep. Sometimes, we even forget that reading is supposed to be an adventure into the unknown. Sometimes, we need new books to reengage our minds and help us remember how fun reading actually is.
By getting these comic books into my students hands, I know they will remember how much fun reading is and get back to enjoying it!
Lately, my students have been getting bogged down with the approaching big state tests and I am starting to see them less excited to read. I know these books with not only reinvigorate their minds but it will also give them the encouragement they need to get throughout the next few months.
