Getting Engaged: Flexible Seating as Conversation Deepens
My students need different types of flexible seating to fully engage in cooperative learning structures and deep conversations. Using flexible seating will allow students to be more comfortable and engaged throughout lessons.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are creative thinkers who are learning to express themselves and engage in meaningful conversations. The students within my class are consistently growing and always looking for a way to improve.
Their favorite form of work is collaborative group work.
In order to facilitate this type of atmosphere, they have requested flexible seating. I have purchased some yoga balls and they are in love with them! These students motivate me to be a better teacher, I love them, and want to continue to encourage them by involving them in the decision making process within the classroom!
My Project
Students will be able to comfortably engage in conversations and work cooperatively in groups. Flexible seating such as this donut seat and chair ball will also allow students to engage in the decision making process themselves and teach them to share with classmates as their first choice will not always be available.
Engagement is key to learning in the classroom and flexible seating allows students to be more engaged in both the lesson and the conversations with classmates.
In order to create 21st century learners, students must be able to work collaboratively in groups and flexible seating allows for groups to occur anywhere in the classroom. Flexible seating will take our classroom to the next level!
