Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Building and creating with LEGO’s isn’t just play, it’s a powerful educational tool. Engaging with LEGO’s can help my teenage students with Autism improve their cognitive abilities by challenging them to think critically and solve problems. As they build and create they are following directions while envisioning structures which will foster concentration and enhance their ability to focus.
Working on LEGO projects in a small group setting encourages collaboration and communication among students, which in turn supports their development of social skills.
