Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My 3-and 4-year-old students love to learn through play!
Our school is located in a low income, urban area.
My preschoolers have boundless energy and love to try new things. These materials, (Play-Doh, wooden craft letters and construction paper crayons) will allow us to do art activities that integrate literacy learning opportunities with art.
My Project
We will use the Play-Doh to both construct freely as well as make Play-Doh letters. The wooden craft letters will be used for craft activities and will reinforce letter recognition. The construction paper crayons will be used in drawing and making books.
This project will help us meld creativity with exposure to academic constructs in a fun, hands-on, engaging way!
I strive to come up with new and interesting ways to integrate literacy into our free play, and these tools will help me do just that.
