Help me give my students sentence strips, buddy bags, and basic craft supplies, like googly eyes, tissue paper and pom poms so that we can complete special projects.
I teach kindergarten in a suburb of a large city in Missouri. We are a National Blue Ribbon School, a National School of Character and a Missouri Gold Star School. My students come from a variety of backgrounds and cultures. It doesn't matter what they have experienced the first five years of their lives before coming to school because all children are the same in that they love learning! They love being active, engaged participants in their learning.
Kindergarten is a magical age in which everything is exciting to students.
I am blessed that I get to be their very first elementary teacher!
My Project
This project will provide our classroom with some basic supplies like googly eyes, tissue paper, buddy bags, sentence strips, and paper bags so that we can complete fun craft projects in my kindergarten class.
It's a Tuesday night, and I'm home prepping for the next day's activity.
I go to my supply closet, and realize I am out of ______. (Insert one of many possible things here!) The supplies in this project will help keep me from having to run to the store to buy these little items with my own funds, which I often have to do, as they are not provided by our school district. The buddy bags will give each student a place to store their crafts when they are waiting to finish them. The sentence strips will be used to make 'crown' crafts for special theme days. The rest of the items will help us be creative and make fun crafts!
