This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Many people say that their favorite thing to do is curl up with a good book in a cozy spot... and this is what I want my students to experience in their classroom!
I teach kindergarten-3rd grade students with special needs in a neighborhood public school.
My students greatly vary in their reading levels, but I know that each and every one needs to be reading, reading, reading! We have many wonderful books in our classroom library, but unfortunately there is not a comfortable spot to read these books.
My Project
During independent reading time, the students have the option to sit on our classroom rug or at a table, and typically they choose to sit at a table. Our classroom library just isn't the comfortable, cozy reading area that it should be. My young readers need pillows and bean bag chairs to help get comfortable with reading.
Please help make our classroom library a wonderful place for my students to read!
I know that many of my students would look forward to independent reading time if they had a comfortable area to read their books. Please help my students get cozy with reading!
