My Students

Do you remember your days in elementary school? Well I do, and nothing really stands out for me. At our school, we are creating a new environment where our students are proud to say where they attend. Our students have a sense of school pride and community. My students are very eager to come to school and go on adventures through the magic of reading.

Our students attend a Title I school and range from pre-kindergarten through fourth-grade.

Many of our students never leave our small town, yet through the joy of reading they are able to experience places that they may never have the opportunity to go to.

My Project

My students visit me on a weekly basis for whole group lessons in the library, as well as throughout the week to check out new books. This flexible seating, which contains chairs and a sofa, will help my students feel more comfortable as they are reading which will hopefully foster a lifelong love for reading.

My students range from beginning readers to proficient readers, and this cozy flexible seating will help them all feel more encouraged to get comfortable with a book and read.

A huge part of my job is to foster a love of reading. Our students get excited when they come into the library and this flexible seating will help to encourage that love of reading even more.
