My students need soft seats, beanbag seats, and a bench for independent reading time.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students walk into my classroom every day full of life and eager to learn. The excitement in their faces when they have learned something new is priceless."Mrs. Huber, look, I can write the number 2!"
I teach at a Title 1 school in Connecticut where 100% of students receive free breakfast and lunch.
My school is one of the largest elementary schools in the district and it seems as if we have the least amount of resources available for our students and staff. Many of the children do not attend preschool or speak another language and lack the basic skills when entering Kindergarten. My students love coming to school and deserve the supplies and resources that they need to be successful.
My Project
My students enjoy picking a "just right" place around the classroom to read their books, but they often choose to sit on the cold, not always clean, tiled floor.
These soft seats, bean bags, and bench will make reading time during our Literacy Block a more relaxing and enjoyable experience, for all of the children in my classroom.
My kindergarten class is excelling in reading this school year. They are exceeding my expectations and I love watching them grow. I hope to continue to carry on their love of reading as well as my future students, for many years to come.
