Getting Cozy in the Reading Corner!

Help me give my students Flex-Space Cozy Work Space to help them develop social skills and reading skills at the same time.

My Students

My students are great little learners. They are so eager to learn, and they soak up knowledge like sponges. I love the look in their eyes when they finally "get" something. They are a bit low in math, but they are trying so hard to keep up and learn as much as they can. These kids come with a lot of energy, and sometimes have a hard time focusing, but teaching them is worth it!

First grade is a crucial time to learn how to read.

They are working on letter sounds and how to sound out words. They work so hard. They are learning how to adjust to going from a half day in kindergarten to a full day in first grade!

My Project

My classroom is small and so my students need places to go other than sitting in their desks all day. This cozy flex space will be put in my reading corner so that they can sit together and socialize while also sharing their love of books.

COVID has affected these kids socially in so many ways.

The Flex-Space Cozy Work Space will allow them to sit together and learn together. They will get to share books that they love. They are doing so many great things and they deserve to be rewarded. The prizes in this project will allow me to reward them monetarily, while also teaching them internal motivation.

Technology is a huge part of the classroom in these days. The headphones will allow them to focus on what they are learning so that they can begin to catch up on the skills they have lost out on.
