My students come together from many different backgrounds and abilities to create a beautiful community we call home. On our campus, we have both self-contained Montessori classes and self-contained gifted classrooms, as well as our mainstream classrooms, so we are able to meet a large variety of learning styles and student needs.
I teach middle school and love to be there for them during this crucial time in their lives when their minds are changing and they're starting to see how they might fit into the larger world.
I strive to encourage them to see their futures as attainable and important. I believe all of our students will make an impact on their community.
My Project
Flexible seating provides students with their own space and with choices. My students sit on stools and in chairs at our tables. Some enjoy sitting under the tables with clipboards. They're able to spread out and work independently, focused on the task at hand.
Middle schoolers love to be involved and make choices, and they are more engaged and productive when they get to choose!
Flexible seating provides an environment where students are less distracted as well.
The items we are asking for will be used to create alternative seating areas and spaces where students can read, write, and discuss. The wobble stools provide a little extra movement for students who need an outlet for energy. Bean bags and beach chairs create a fun and different seating area in corners of the room. The pillows will allow students to sit under tables and in our cubbies.
