Welcome to 7th grade English! In our classroom, students practice and develop daily literacy skills, cooperation, determination, and patience through independent reading and writing, group discussion, and public speaking. While we learn and grow together, students support each other's thinking in a family atmosphere where ideas are valued, and risk-taking is encouraged. Our students attend school in the middle of a major downtown area. They come from economically and culturally diverse backgrounds. They face many challenges ranging from bringing basic school supplies to the classroom to meeting academic expectations. Our school instills a love of learning in each student and encourages each and every student to aim for higher learning. Many of our students will be the first member of their family to attend college.
